Basically Search engine optimization and ranking strategies fall into two major catagories, and these are On-Site Strategy and Off-Site Strategy.

On Site strategy we have a control over our site contents, keywords, meta description, meta keywords etc.

Off-Site Strategy, like page rank, no of pages indexed, no of inbound links are not under our direct control. But its not that we cannot change it atall there are certain methods which can boost your site so that you can achieve all of the above, following certain steps.

There are also various techniques available which can track your site performance like the Page rank Checker Component and also certain other extensions like Page Analysis which can let you know the advanced optimisation you can do for your site.

Also to know how your keywords are doing in search engines like google and yahoo you can use the keywords Rank checker for Google as well as yahoo developed separately, which you can download for free from our site.

For keyword Selection tool you can go for

If you are looking for a less expensive way to go I recommend Notetab light. Download a free copy here Although not as flexible and easy to use as NoteTab Pro, it will get the job done.

Your keywords selection and usage is more important for your site. So choose them wisely and use them optimally.

#1. For a keyword proper usage you should have a keyword density of 4~10 %. Check keyword density and know where you have to optimise.

#2. Keep your site keywords and pages focused on a centralised subject like a site should concentrate on beauticians and not photographers.

#3.Have Unique content dont copy from sites and just paste it as I was doing that foolishly before. But as it was of no use so I took out time and wrote my own contents.

#4. It is not that only your desired keyword optimisation helps you to get a rank. If you just use it 5 times and leave your page like that than no body will visit your site second time. So try to have some useful contents and concentrate not just on your targeted keyword but other Secondary keywords too.

Keyword placement, density and proximity are the most important factors when it comes to on page search engine optimization and ranking strategies.

Domain name: Have a short domain name around 3 to 10 and not more than that and take a tld for your targeted country. If global site than you can go for .com, .org, .net tld's.

Page title. Use your Keyword once in the title and just keep it short.Google uses a weighting factor based on the number of words in the title. The more words you use, the less weight each word has. A word of caution here. Don't just use your keyword phrase. Google will likely consider this spamming and may penalize you. Using the same keyword more than once is worth testing, but many experts believe it can hurt your rankings so use it at most two times in page title.

The discription: Description should be short and should give a whole picture of your site. Again a caution, don't over use your keyword in your discription. maximum of two is enough. Some search engines will use your discription in their listings so try to develop one that will make the searcher want to click on it.

Heading tags: Header tags are the HTML tags used to make text bigger. Typically they are used for headlines and sub heads. Some search engines use them to determine what a page is about. So try to use your keyword or phrase in your header tags.

Anchor text: This is the text used as a link on the same page. When you are linking from top of a page on your site to some bottom content in the link it is called anchoring.

Body copy: Most experts agree that around 7% density of a keyword is a good figure to look for. Dont spam by just using keywords several times without any meaning and just for sake of getting the 7% keyword density.

Alt text: This is text used in place of images for those with text only browsers. It also pops up when you hold your mouse over an image. Because search engine spiders can't read graphics, the alt text tells the spiders what the graphic is. So to discribe the graphics include your keywords in the alt text.

URL's: When using URL's to link your pages together be sure to use your keywords in the link. Just as in the case of domain names, use hyphens to seperate the words so the spiders can read them.

You can find all the tools in the Download section which can help you to analyse your web page and also if you want to check a demo than at the top there is an extension demo link, check whatever extension you need before Downloading.

Hope this helps the new Webmasters.
